Prof. Dr. Ahmet Haluk Dursun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, visits YEE Astana

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Haluk Dursun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, made his first official overseas visit to Kazakhstan.

Prof. Dr. Dursun, who will also attend the 4th Meeting of the Turkic Council Ministers in Charge of Tourism during his visits, at first visited the Turkish Embassy in Astana, the capital city.

There, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, welcomed by Ambassador Mr. Nevzat Uyanık, came together with the undersecretaries of the embassy.

Emphasizing the significance of the visit he made with the words he stated, “We hold this geography, where we have a common past, in high regard”, Mr. Dursun gave information about the activities conducted in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Mentioning the role of Ahmet Haluk Dursun’s first official overseas visit to a friend and brother country Kazakhstan in bilateral relations, Ambassador Mr. Uyanık underlined the importance of the Meeting of the Turkic Council Ministers in Charge of Tourism in terms of Turkish communities.

Mr. Ahmet Haluk Dursun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, visited the Yunus Emre Institute Astana after the Turkish Embassy. Prof. Dursun, who visited the classrooms in the center and chatted with the students for a while, also gave close attention to the library of the center.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Haluk Dursun, stating that Yunus Emre Institute has an important role in the introduction of Turkey, evaluated his with the following words: “Turkish is everywhere in the world.” We, as the Republic of Turkey, have to be in everywhere where Turkish culture exists and I hope, we will. We met young people in Kazakhstan steppes in Yunus Emre Institute to have an exchange of ideas about books, culture and language.”

After visiting the Yunus Emre Institute, Prof. Dursun, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, went to the Astana office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
