First Turkish, Then Turkey!
Yunus Emre Institute will host 1000 international student from 118 countries in Turkey within the scope of Turkish Summer School program will be held in 16 July- 12 August 2018.
To the program, which will be held for the 9th time this year, 30 universities in 28 provinces around Turkey will play host. Besides Turkish education they will receive in Erzurum, Rize, Balıkesir, Sivas, Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Sakarya, Karabük, Kütahya, Edirne, Bursa, Denizli, Bolu, Ankara, Burdur, Gaziantep, Giresun, Samsun, Karaman, Kastamonu, Kırklareli, Konya, Malatya, Zonguldak, Manisa, Muğla, İzmir and Nevşehir, students, that will blend their Turkish knowlegde with Anatola’s culture, will have the opportunity to closely learn about Turkish culture.
Within the scope of 1 month long program, students participating in traditional events like wedding and henna nights and also in various courses such as marbling, pottery, food, baglama and folk dances will get together at the end of the program. After closing program will be organized after one week long Istanbul trip students will be sent off to their homes.
Turkey from the Eyes of the Students
In the program participated by thousands of young from different cultures, language and races with the aim of visiting Turkey, learning Turkish and closely getting to know Turkish culture and history by eluding from their prejudices, while students share what they have learned, they will compete with each other on social media. The competition, of which subject is Turkey from the eyes of the students, will be in text, photograph and video categories.
Record Application
Number of countries made above a thousand applications to Turkish Summer School program, to which 100 thousand people made applications around the world, has risen to 11 this year. While Pakistan ranked in the first place with above 26 thousand applications, Indonesia, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Sudan followed this ranking.
As there significant applications made from Angola, Barbados, British Indian Ocean Territory, East Timor, El Salvador, Gabon, Costa Rica, Lesotho, Macau (Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China), Reunion Island, Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines an island country in the Carribbean and Turks and Caikos islands, there are applications made from Europe, too:
