Chinese Media Executives at Yunus Emre Institute
A delegation composed of the executives of the leading media institutions of the People’s Republic of China, which is currently paying a visit to Turkey, has also visited the Yunus Emre Institute.
The delegation became the guest of the Yunus Emre Institute on 7 May 2018 as part of its Turkey tour on 6-9 May 2018. The delegation will also visit the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) and the Anatolian Agency (AA) in Ankara.
Members of the delegation included Head of SUMG Qiu Xin, President of the Shanghai Xinhua Companies Li Shuang and the Editor-in-Chief of The Papers News Website Liu Yonggang. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the activities conducted worldwide by the Yunus Emre Institute in the fields of Turkish instruction and cultural, artistic and scientific studies.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss possibilities of cooperation for cultural interaction. The delegation then visited the exhibition hall called “Cultural Stops” and was briefed about various projects, activities and scientific studies undertaken by the Institute.

Following the declaration of 2018 as the “Turkish Tourism Year in China”, the Yunus Emre Institute continues to meet with Chinese delegations from different fields with a view to expanding the relations between the two countries by means of joint projects aimed at increasing cultural interaction with the People’s Republic of China.
The Yunus Emre Institute had, in the past, also hosted various Chinese delegations with extensive public overreach in Turkey within the framework of the project “Be Our Guest” which was designed to allow the peoples and state institutions of the two countries to have better knowledge about each other and thus achieve closer relations by strengthening the bridges of cultural diplomacy between the two countries.
Within the context of the “Be Our Guest” project of the Yunus Emre Institute, 3 different Chinese delegations were hosted during the 2017 tourism season in the historical and touristic cities of our country and the subsequent news, publications and social media stories about Turkey and its tourism potential had reached millions of people.
