The perception of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Turkey

A ceremony was held at Pakistan's Presidential Palace on December 15, 2017 to commemorate the birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The ceremony organized by Pakistan Higher Education Commission under the auspices of President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain was attended by rectors, deans, academic members and students of various universities in Pakistan, and Yunus Emre Institute Lahore Branch Direct Prof. Dr. Halil Toker was also invited to the ceremony as a guest speaker. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Toker stressed that there are strong ties of friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and Pakistan and Turkey attaches great importance to Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The keynote speech was delivered by President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain. President Hussain praised the unparalleled brotherhood and friendship between Turkey and Pakistan.

"In this gathering held in memory of the ancestor of the nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, not only we have expressed our due loyalty to him, but also this meeting will be memorable for the representation of Turkey as our friend, close friend, or even twin. Dr. Halil Toker's speech has reaffirmed that the ties between Pakistan and Turkey are extremely deep, enthusiastic and harmonic. The relationships between the two brotherly countries should set a model for other nations in the world. I am sure that Pakistan and Turkey will continue to act in harmony not only to overcome the issues in the Muslim world, but also to play positive roles in the settlement of other problems in our time and minimize the suffering of humanity. I hope that Pakistan and Turkey will maintain this attitude for the good of mankind forever," he said.
