Seventh Stop of Culture Nights was Sakarya!
Friendship Truck continues to bring together Turkish Summer School students with people. Friendship Truck travelling from city to city as part of Turkish Summer School Culture Nights stopped in Sakarya after programs in Samsun, Ankara, Denizli, İzmir, Denizli, Çanakkale and Bursa.
Program organised by contributions of Sakarya Governorship and Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, took start as Yunus Emre Enstitüsü students who receive training in Sakarya University TÖMER and participate in cultural event welcomed Friendship Truck at Sakarya City Square. Sakarya locals who filled the square warmly welcomed the students. In the event that took place on the anniversary of August 17th Earthquake, each student greeted the people and expressed their condolences to Sakarya locals. After the event where emotional scenes occurred, the crowd moved to Sakarya Ofis Art Centre for the program titled Culture Nights.
Following the dinner held at 8 P.M., the program titled Culture Nights commenced with opening speeches by Sakarya Governor Hüseyin Avni COŞ, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Director Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş and Sakarya University Rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas. After the screening of short films on Turkish Summer School Culture Nights, the most exciting part, “I Compete in Turkish” competition took start.
Turkish Summer School students Nino Tsintsadze, Tamari Guchmazashvili, Khatia Muradasvili, Mariam Khabuliani, Elnara Mamedova participated in I Compete in Turkish and all enjoyed the competition. Three students who gave 8 right answers out of 10 questions about Turkish culture, history, art, Turkish grammar and Sakarya and shared the first place. After winners were presented with their awards, various activities were held with the participant and gifts were handed to guests. The event ended late at night after a group photo shoot.
