The “The 16th Century Prodigy Matrakci Nasuh” exhibition met the art-lovers in Istanbul
Under the auspices of the Presidency of The Republic of Turkey, the exhibition called, “The 16th Century Prodigy Matrakci Nasuh” is presented on 15th of January on friday. After Sarajevo and Belgrade, this is the first time that İstanbul will be hosted and presented this exhibition to the art-lovers.
Touring and Automobile Association of Turkey will be hosted the exhibition with a partnership with İstanbul Intercultural Art Dialogues Association. In the project curated by Beste Gursu, the muralist Matrakci Nasuh is mentioned by 30 pieces of route miniatures found on tile boards under the leadership of tile artist Sevim Ersoy; the poet Matrakci Nasuh is mentioned by the couplets in his works; the calligrapher Matrakci Nasuh is mentioned by 10 pieces of divan boards consisting of anthologies of couplets; the painter, mathematician and musketeer Matrakci Nasuh is mentioned by 1 piece of painting where a couple of his qualifications are reflected by a modern perspective; 12 female artists tell us about Matrakci Nasuh by 41 pieces of art.
Within the context of the project, the Topkapi Palace revan writing numbered 1272 of Matrakci Nasuh “Tarih-i Sultan Bayezid” has been quoted from the Classical Turkish version and published as facsimile by the Turkish Touring and Automobile Establishment. Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Fine Arts have published the “XVI. Century Turkish Music” album in memory of “Matrakci Nasuh”, PTT A.S. has published a special stamp and postcard in memory of Matrakci Nasuh and UNESCO Turkey published the project catalogue. On the occasion of his 450th death anniversary, Matrakci Nasuh has been included in the “Remembrance and Celebration Anniversaries” by UNESCO.
The project that will be realized in 3 continents, 9 countries and 10 cities by the support of UNESCO, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, Turkish National Committee, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Fine Arts, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PTT A.S., Daily Sabah, Atv, Sabah Art and Life Production, InsanveSanat, CC Translation and Global Communication partner Anatolia Agency, will be exhibited in Vienna after Istanbul.
